Culture and creativity are part of everyone’s daily life

Blacktown Arts recognises that creativity plays an important role in developing opportunities for artists and in contributing to the wellbeing of our community.

From The Collection is a temporary public art display on the Max Webber Library windows that feature 4 artworks selected from the Blacktown City Art Collection.

Blacktown City Council has been collecting artworks for over 30 years. The Blacktown City Art Collection has become an important source of civic pride and a treasured repository of local knowledge.

It maps how social values, cultural perspectives and artistic concerns of the community have changed over time, and is a source of inspiration for current and future generations.

Artworks are predominantly acquired for the Blacktown City Art Collection through the annual Blacktown City Art Prize.
