We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of this Land, the Dharug people, and their continued connection to Country.
We pay our respects to Elders from yesterday to tomorrow.
We extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples of Blacktown City where the flannel flowers still grow proud and strong.
We will walk softly on this land and open our hearts to Country as the Dharug people have for tens of thousands of years.
The Smith Family is providing the opportunity for high school students to take part in free workshops with Bangarra Dance Theatre, Australia’s leading First Nations dance company.
Bangarra’s Youth Program Team takes participants through a series of contemporary Indigenous Australian dance workshops, offering high school age students the opportunity to learn from the best and connect with community and culture.
Working together, the workshop participants will draw on their own personal stories and cultural identities to create a dance work for a family-and-friends performance at the end of the workshop series.
