Lead by the We Are Studios artists, kids will immerse themselves in workshops in the world of spies, with drawing, storytelling and painting.
Informed by her lived experience as an Autistic person, Ebony’s playful Makers Space project, Level 5, unpacks feelings of living a double life and trying to make yourself fit into a world that was not made for you.
Makers Space was launched in 2024 as an immersive and interactive space for creatives of all ages. Led by guest artists and curators, the Makers Space offers a year-round, dedicated space for reflection, creativity and play.

Young detectives will draw themselves undercover on a top-secret mission, investigating a mystery of their choice. Whether it’s a missing treasure, uncovering a secret lab, or catching the culprit who took the last scoop of Milo!
Using a magic flashlight effect, kids will slide a paper flashlight under their artwork to reveal hidden clues in their scene. A fun, hands-on way to spark creativity, storytelling, and detective skills! Mission accepted? Let’s investigate.

Explore the art of revealing and concealing in this hands-on workshop with We Are Studios artist Ebony Wightman. Create your own playfully strange masked disguise and step into a world of transformation!
Guided by Ebony, kids will work with a transparent moulded mask, Posca pens and paint to create a new identity.

Ebony Wightman is a multi-disciplinary artist, creative leader, Disability advocate and self-identified spy living and working on Dharug country (Western Sydney).
Ebony’s practice champions disability-led perspectives and explores her lived experience as an Autistic person with complex health needs and chronic illness, as well as the intersectional rights and identities of d/Deaf and Disabled communities.
Ebony is a co-founder of We Are Studios, Australia’s first 100% disability-led studio for Western Sydney artists with disability. Ebony is a 2024 Creative Leadership Program recipient (Creative Australia).

Our team have experienced first-hand the barriers people living with disability face in accessing accessible arts education, professional development pathways, and the opportunities needed to build a thriving and sustainable creative practice.
We address these barriers by providing mentorship, networking and professional development opportunities to creatives with disability across Western Sydney and advocating for their inclusion within the contemporary creative arts sector.
