About this objectPart of a series of works by Christine Dean called Monochromes for Western Sydney. The pink monochrome oil painting literally spells out the relationship between an actual event and the representation of the event and was derived from a conversation at Blacktown Arts Centre in 2008. Although over many years the artist has worked out a formal template from which to design paintings, the execution is meticulous and time-consuming. This artwork was shown publically as part of the Recent Acquisitions exhibition at Blacktown Arts Centre in 2010.
