We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of this Land, the Dharug people, and their continued connection to Country.
We pay our respects to Elders from yesterday to tomorrow.
We extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples of Blacktown City where the flannel flowers still grow proud and strong.
We will walk softly on this land and open our hearts to Country as the Dharug people have for tens of thousands of years.

About this objectArtist Statement:
" ‘Here Comes Trouble’ holds a special place in my heart. When my first son, Lincoln, turned two years old, he made an absolute mess while I held my new born baby, Lucas, in my arms. In that moment, I felt a mix of frustration and adoration. I believe every parent has experienced this feeling. I felt pure beauty in this scene. The chaos and the light shining on my innocent baby's face created a perfect harmony. I was determined to capture this moment on canvas. Even after eight years, the emotions remain vivid, making it easier to bring the scene to life. It took me approximately two months to complete."
Mina Lee was born in South Korea in 1980. Lee creates photo-realistic oil paintings on canvas. Lee settled in Australia 10 years ago. She was a world traveller and chef, and she met her husband in Darwin, and there her artistic journey began while she was struggling with postnatal depression. She felt art saved her. In this transformative phase she discovered her hidden talent for hyper-realism pencil drawing. Lee shifted her focus to oil painting later. It was very clear to her that painting was not only her path but also a calling. In 3 years, she made artworks that were finalists in 4 art competitions and 2 prize winners. Lee does not have any art education or training but she believes that she born to paint. Each of her artworks became a milestone of achievement and a marker of her journey.
"The process of art excites me. Each step feels unfamiliar until the last stroke of the brush is laid. It's only then when it all feels so real."
