We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of this Land, the Dharug people, and their continued connection to Country.
We pay our respects to Elders from yesterday to tomorrow.
We extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples of Blacktown City where the flannel flowers still grow proud and strong.
We will walk softly on this land and open our hearts to Country as the Dharug people have for tens of thousands of years.

Name/TitleMomentary Threads of Youth
About this objectAnjali Sharma's art practice centres on a constant exploration of colour and texture across a diverse range of materials and surfaces.
Bold, dynamic, and bursting with life, Anjali Sharma’s portraits are not just mere representations; they are windows into the spirited personalities and unique journeys of young souls. Each stroke of a POSCA marker is a deliberate choice, amplifying the distinctive features and character traits that make each of her nieces a radiant individual. The linework dances across the canvas, reflecting the energy and spontaneity of youth, while the bold colours ignite the senses and evoke a sense of wonder. As a diptych, these portraits are not isolated entities, but interconnected narratives, weaving together the shared moments and unique journeys that thread through the fabric of our lives.
Anjali Sharma is a member of the Open Air Artists’ collective that emerged from the creative crucible at the Leo Kelly Blacktown Arts Centre. Sharma was a finalist in the Blacktown City Art Prize 2024, and the winner of the Local Artist Prize. She has exhibited in two group exhibitions and in the Fairfield Art Prize exhibition in 2023. In 2022, Anjali Sharma earned recognition as a recipient of the Blacktown City Creative Fund, furthering her commitment to pushing artistic boundaries and contributing to the western Sydney creative community.
