We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of this Land, the Dharug people, and their continued connection to Country.
We pay our respects to Elders from yesterday to tomorrow.
We extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples of Blacktown City where the flannel flowers still grow proud and strong.
We will walk softly on this land and open our hearts to Country as the Dharug people have for tens of thousands of years.

Name/TitleRainbow Serpent
About this object'The 'Rainbow Serpent' was painted in 1988 as a hobby art, with other parts attached to it, but I gave away the four smaller panels which featured flora and botanical artwork. The 'Rainbow Serpent' travelled to Germany and Japan at not-for-profit events.
It was also lent out for many years to a government organisation which dealt with children's safety issues and other sad events. It was displayed in front of telephone operators who receive sad and desperate messages, so that my artwork could give them some comfort after hearing telephone conversations that were not of a happy nature. I left it there for five years for no fee until I displayed it again at one of my exhibitions. Since then it has stayed propped up behind my bed for many years out of view, until the exhibition in 2023 at Blacktown Arts Centre.'
