Gemma Navarrete is a Chilean x Italian singer-songstress hailing from Western Sydney. She is known for her concise, poetic lyricism and RnB/pop-infused tunes that reflect the clunky transition from adolescence to young adulthood. Drawing inspiration from Kali Uchis , Ariana Grande , and Omar Apollo, the songstress intends to create a refreshingly new sound that evokes a sense of nostalgia and youth.

MC Trey (Thelma Thomas) has over 20 years’ experience as a hip-hop/ soul artist, with nominations for the ARIA, Urban Music, 3D and Jack Music Awards.

She has performed locally and internationally, offering a unique style of melodic and insightful rhymes and delivery about life, love and her experiences.

Lyric-writing began in Fiji at primary school, while listening to reggae, island music and whatever was on the radio. She was introduced to hip-hop through movies like ‘Krush Groove’ and music videos by ‘Rock Steady Crew,’ but wasn’t propelled to rap her own words over beats until the early 90’s.

Born into the raw ruggedness of South Auckland, New Zealand, with a Rapper/Producer Father from early New Zealand underground Hip-Hop group ‘Savage Poetz’ – From Boy to Man, MRVZ rooted himself in both local and overall Hip-Hop and has found his ground in his music today lifting up, celebrating and displaying the area of western Sydney, Australia.

True Vibenation combines an irresistible blend of soul, afrobeat and hip hop backed by big bass, big beats and horns.

They have built a reputation as international party starters and ambassadors for Afro-Australian music, constantly touring across Australia, Africa, Europe and Asia including stages at Glastonbury, Brixton Academy, Subsonic and Womadelaide festivals. Vyvienne Abla has been working in the music and creative industries for 18 years locally and across the globe. In 2007 she founded Vyva Entertainment, using HipHop and music culture to empower others, with a focus on integrating industry, education and community to create unique pathways for youth, artists and professionals.

2015, she launched 4ESydney, the only festival and conference here of its kind, specialising in HipHop culture and multi-artform, interdisciplinary practice. For the community, by the community, 4ESydney, continues to gradually build a global infrastructure and platform for HipHop in so-called Australia.

Over the years Vyv’s work has gained international attention, being invited to speak in NZ, USA, UK, Europe and Middle East as a result of her initiatives and work in Western Sydney and across the nation more broadly.
