Join Pacific weavers across western Sydney this summer to create 80 handmade woven mats that will be used to celebrate the opening of Powerhouse Parramatta.
The project forms part of the OCEAN WE’VE Commission, a new Powerhouse and Blacktown Arts project bringing together Western Sydney’s Pacific communities through a large-scale collaborative weaving project.
OCEAN WE’VE brings together master weavers from across the Pacific including Langafonua ‘a Fafine Tonga, Women’s Council of Tonga in Nuku’alofa, Ereamone Chamberlain, Sione Falemaka, Angela Paikea, Keren Ruki and Seve Faleupolu.
