The Blacktown Arts Digital Artist in Residence program invites an artist for a 3-month online residency to develop a digital artwork.
Step into musician and artist Shimmy’s world of imagination and wonder as she develops an interactive new digital work. During her online residency, she will build upon her interests in alternate realities, hidden visual patterns and how they are woven into both adult and children’s storytelling.
Bio
Shimmy is an Australian born Korean artist who constructs immersive worlds through video and music. Her work assembles visuals, sound, and storytelling to explore themes of alternate realities and hidden patterns, inviting audiences into a sense of childlike curiosity.

Gabriel LT Ralph is a Sydney based artist with a background in mechatronics engineering and computer science. He explores the artistic landscape through the lens of technology, focusing in on the nexus of mathematics and nature.
Gabriel operates across many mediums both digital and physical to create interactive installations that conjure curiosity. As a designer by heart, Gabriel finds comfort in collaboration, working alongside fellow artists in the community bringing to life visions such as wearable matrix displays, audio visual physics simulations and cryptic cyber puzzles.
This project is presented by Blacktown Arts and supported by Blacktown City Council and the NSW Government through Create NSW.
