We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of this Land, the Dharug people, and their continued connection to Country.
We pay our respects to Elders from yesterday to tomorrow.
We extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples of Blacktown City where the flannel flowers still grow proud and strong.
We will walk softly on this land and open our hearts to Country as the Dharug people have for tens of thousands of years.

Blacktown Arts would like to congratulate Debbie Higgison, our Solid Ground Education Program Officer, for winning the 2021 Chifley Woman of the Year award at the Coral McLean Awards.
Debbie was recognised for her work with the local community – Elders, young people, schools and artists.
We’d also like to congratulate the winner of the Coral McLean 2021 Award Jennifer Beale and Chifley Young Woman of the Year Teagan Hodges.
The Awards were presented by Federal Member for Chifley, Ed Husic, on Tuesday 20 April.
The Awards are an opportunity to say thank you to inspiring women in our area and there’s no better role model to name the Awards after than the late Coral McLean who volunteered more than 100,000 hours in the Mount Druitt area.
Coral sadly lost her 20-month battle with breast cancer in 2011. In her honour, all proceeds raised at the breakfast will be donated to the McGrath Foundation.
If you would like to donate to the McGrath Foundation, you can do so here.
