POWER | Dennis Golding

by beth sorensen

With an inclination towards superhero symbolism, Golding’s work empowers contemporary Aboriginal cultural identity and frees it from colonial narratives. As the artist in residence for Solid Ground, Golding worked with the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students at Alexandria Park Community School to create 100 superhero capes depicting visual representations of connections to Country, memory, heritage and lived experience.

Have a look through some of these vibrant images from Dennis Golding’s POWER exhibition.
