Lullaby Singing Project

Call out

Local artist Narjis Mirza is seeking women of Blacktown City and neighbouring areas to take part in the second singing session for the Lullaby Singing Project. The project explores storytelling, tradition and maternal instincts that bond a mother and child through lullabies.

Women of diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds, in particular mothers, grandmothers and those expecting, are invited to share their personal and cultural knowledge of lullabies through this series of singing sessions The Leo Kelly Blacktown Arts Centre.

Content produced in the singing sessions will form part of a major project in 2023.

If you are interested in taking part, Narjis is holding a second singing session on Thursday 1 December from 10.30 am to 12.30 pm. If you have attended the previous discussion you are still welcome to attend this second session.

Refreshments will be provided.

If you have any questions, or to register your interest, please contact Narjis on narjismirzaa@gmail.com, or phone Blacktown Arts on (02) 9839 6558.
