Experience the next generation of classical music stars when the Sydney Symphony Orchestra 2024 Fellows perform an exciting afternoon of music full of lively characters.

Louis Spohr was a star of the 1800s, a celebrated violinist who collaborated with Beethoven. His Nonet lets nine different instruments shine, with infectious high spirits. Igor Stravinsky was one of the greatest composers of the 20th century; his The Soldier’s Tale tells a story of a soldier who sells his violin to the Devil in exchange for endless riches, and features an enormous amount of musical influences from pasodoble, tango, waltz and ragtime rhythms to klezmer music, and even a famous hymn.

Program: Spohr, Nonet and Stravinsky, The Soldier’s Tale.
Runtime: Approximately 80 minutes, including 20-minute interval
