The Gallery by Solid Ground
Nightly from 6 pm – 10 pm
Thursday 18 August to Sunday 18 September
Civic Plaza, The Leo Kelly Blacktown Arts Centre and Village Green
The Gallery by Solid Ground comes to Blacktown straight from Vivid Sydney 2022.
The Gallery employs spectacular lighting projections to create a large-scale walk-through experience for pedestrians along the key corridors of Blacktown City, bringing to life the works of almost 30 First Nations students and emerging artists from Blacktown and western Sydney.
Created by Solid Ground Program participants from Evans High School Blacktown, Chifley College Dunheved Campus, Chifley College Bidwill Campus and the Baabayn Aboriginal Corporation Young Mums and Bubs group, the designs reflect community and show a diversity of techniques, compositions and styles.
Be immersed in colour, animation and light, as The Gallery creates an impressive, expansive celebration of local art across the streets of Blacktown.

The Gallery is presented with Solid Ground, Carriageworks and Mandylights and was originally conceptualised and created in partnership with Crown Sydney, and commissioned by Destination NSW for Vivid Sydney 2022.
Solid Ground is an initiative of Carriageworks and Blacktown Arts and provides education, training and employment pathways for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander youth in Redfern and western Sydney. The program includes three key strands: a First Nations Mentoring Program at select secondary schools, a Tertiary Skills Program and paid Internships.
Solid Ground is supported by The Australian Government, The Crown Resorts Foundation, The Packer Family Foundation and the Tony Foundation.
